Army veteran Spc. Branden Cason planned to make the military his career. When that path unexpectedly ended, he found himself facing a new question: where to go next and what to call home.

Now, the Cason family is one step closer to having that home. 

PulteGroup’s Dallas Division recently surprised Branden and his family with the news that they will receive a mortgage-free home through Built to Honor in partnership with Operation Homefront. The home will be built in Pulte Homes’ Anna Town Square community in Anna, Texas.

“To go through it all and know that there are people that still take the time to put something like this together is pretty amazing,” Branden shared after receiving the news.

In the months ahead, the Dallas team will help bring the Cason family’s new home to life, giving them a place to put down roots and always call home.

For the veterans and families who receive a Built to Honor® home, the greatest impact begins after the ribbon is cut, when homeownership creates stability, opportunity and peace of mind for years to come.

That's exactly how U.S. Navy Petty Officer Robert Orr, who received a Built to Honor home in 2024, describes the experience: "This home has been far more than a place to live. It has been the foundation that has allowed our family to grow, heal and build a future."

Built to Honor provides mortgage-free homes to injured veterans and their families. Last year, the program surpassed its 100th mortgage-free home delivery, marking a major milestone in its 15-year history. In 2026, nine PulteGroup divisions are leading 10 home projects for veterans across seven states, all united by a single purpose: helping veterans build stronger futures for their families.

"The true impact of the Built to Honor program isn't measured on the day we hand over the keys," said Ryan Marshall, PulteGroup's President and CEO. "It's measured in the years that follow, as veteran families build their lives, become ingrained in and strengthen their communities, and create new opportunities for generations after them."

Several of this year's projects are unique and feature distinctive community connections.

PulteGroup's West Florida Division will cut the ribbon on not one, but two mortgage-free homes right next door to one another this fall. Two veterans will become lifelong neighbors, marking the program's second delivery of adjacent homes.

Through projects led by PulteGroup's Coastal Carolinas and Minneapolis divisions, two veterans will soon call Del Webb Savannah and Bellwether by Del Webb home. As PulteGroup's renowned 55+ brand, Del Webb communities offer connection, friendship, and support that can be especially meaningful for veterans.

Another veteran family will receive a mortgage-free home at The Grow, PulteGroup's first agrihood community. Rooted in agriculture, wellness and community, The Grow offers a unique and tranquil setting for the Central Florida Division's veteran recipient.

Built to Honor projects are underway or complete across seven states in 2026, including PulteGroup's Central Florida, West Florida, Michigan, Coastal Carolinas, Northeast Corridor, Indianapolis, Dallas, Minneapolis, and San Antonio divisions.

Since its founding, Built to Honor has helped military families build more than homes. Mortgage-free homeownership creates lasting financial stability while opening doors to new opportunities for veterans and their families. Together with thoughtfully designed communities, the program provides a beautiful home and place of belonging, but also the foundation for everything that comes next.

The special day began with an escorted procession led by Rolling Thunder, Patriot Guard Riders, Wixom Police, Wixom Fire and other first responders, as employees, trade partners, veterans and supporters lined the streets waving flags and cheering Daniel and his family on.

The Macomb County Honor Guard presented the colors during the national anthem, while veterans from nearby Del Webb Kensington Ridge attended in support of Daniel and his family. Speakers included Wixom Mayor Pat Beagle, former Built to Honor recipient retired U.S. Air Force MSgt. Paulus Obey, Michigan Division President Kevin Christofferson and Building Homes for Heroes representative Tracy White.

The ceremony concluded with the official groundbreaking alongside Daniel and his family, marking the beginning of a new chapter. In one of the day’s most meaningful moments, veterans in attendance presented Daniel with military service challenge coins. The unplanned gesture served as a powerful reminder that Built to Honor is about more than building homes. It is about honoring service, fostering connection and surrounding deserving veterans and their families with a community that cares.

For Daniel, service has always been about putting others first.

After following in his brother's footsteps, who served in the Army, Daniel joined the Marines in 2010 and later deployed to Afghanistan, where he sustained life-changing injuries. Following his military service, Daniel has focused on rebuilding, raising his four children as a single father, and working toward a more stable future for his family.

What Daniel believed was a final interview with The Michigan Division and Building Homes for Heroes quickly turned into something much bigger.

During an emotional gathering with his children by his side, Daniel shared what stable housing would mean for their family after years of temporary living situations and crowded spaces. Speaking through tears, he explained that despite every challenge, his children “don’t complain” and are simply grateful to be together.

Then came the surprise.

Presented with what seemed like a simple gift, Daniel slowly realized the truth. PulteGroup’s Michigan Division would build and donate a new Pulte home for him and his children.

“I didn’t think this type of thing existed,” Daniel said moments after learning the news. “It’s finally going to be nice to come home with them and not have to worry where we’re going to sleep next year.”

The moment was filled with disbelief, gratitude, and overwhelming emotion. Not just for Daniel and his children, but for everyone in the room privileged enough to witness it.

That’s the part that’s hard to fully capture in a ceremony. The long-term impact. The generational shift. What it means when a family no longer has to carry the same uncertainty, and instead can start building something steady.

As the keys were handed over and the family stepped inside, the moment spoke for itself.

PulteGroup’s Built to Honor® program provides mortgage-free homes to veterans living with disabilities as a result of their military service.

“It was an emotional, powerful moment for all of us,” said Clint Ball, PulteGroup Central Florida Division President. “Alejandro has sacrificed so much in service to our country, and it’s our honor to give something meaningful back to him and his family. This home will be a place where they can build their future with security, hope and community.”

With the backdrop of the Orlando Magic’s electric atmosphere, more than 40 PulteGroup Central Florida employees, friends, and supporters gathered in a suite overlooking the court, waiting in quiet anticipation for Candelaria and his family to arrive. As soon as Candelaria realized this wasn’t an interview at all, the room shifted. Soft cheers, smiles, and heartfelt emotion filled the space as the family learned they had already been chosen as the next Built to Honor recipients.

The Candelaria family will soon put down roots in The Grow, Pulte’s one-of-a-kind agrihood community in Orlando. The Grow is an inviting neighborhood designed around gardens, preserved green space, vintage farmhouse-inspired architecture, and a lifestyle centered on connection and nature.

“Alejandro and his family are truly extraordinary, and it was an honor for all of us to be part of this moment,” said Blake Lapinsky, VP of Sales for the PulteGroup Central Florida Division. “They will be joining an incredible community at The Grow, a place filled with warmth, character and opportunity, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome them home.”

The surprise took place moments before tipoff. Setting the tone for a memorable night. And while the Orlando Magic clinched a win, the biggest victory belonged to the Candelaria and Pulte families.

These unforgettable moments were made possible by the incredible dedication of our Central Texas and Houston teams, along with every partner and volunteer who worked tirelessly to make these celebrations happen. Together, these divisions turned two dreams into reality and gave these families something they will never forget. A safe place to call home for the holidays and beyond.

Central Texas Division Honors Army Veteran 

On December 10, our Central Texas Division partnered with Building Homes for Heroes to welcome U.S. Army Private Christopher Justiniano, his fiancée Jacklyn, and their young son to a beautiful new home in our Centex Skyview community in Belton, TX. 

Christopher served for more than four years, including a deployment to Iraq from 2009 to 2010, a time that demanded courage and sacrifice. His service left him with lasting challenges, yet his resilience and determination continue to inspire everyone who meets him. Thanks to the incredible efforts of our Central Texas team, trade partners, and the Belton community, the Justiniano family now has a safe, welcoming place to call home.

 The celebration was filled with a parade featuring the high school choir, band, color guard, cheerleaders, football team, JROTC, police and fire departments, Combat Vet Association, a flyover featuring seven planes, music, and several heartfelt speeches. As Christopher and Jacklyn stepped through the front door, the weight of uncertainty gave way to joy and relief, creating a holiday memory they will cherish forever.

“At PulteGroup, we've been building homes for over 75 years, but through Built to Honor, we build something even more meaningful: gratitude in the form of a home,” said Pablo Rivas, PulteGroup Central Texas Division President.  

Houston Division Welcomes Marine Corps Veteran 

That same day, our Houston Division partnered with Operation Homefront to gift Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Cassandra “Cassie” Pierre and her three children, Madison (8), Madalyn (7), and Marshall (5), a mortgage-free home in our Centex Stokesbury community in Waller, TX. 

Cassie’s decade of distinguished service earned her Marine of the Year honors and the rank of staff sergeant before a medical discharge related to service-connected conditions. After losing their home to a fire, this single mother faced incredible challenges with unwavering strength. On this day, those hardships gave way to hope. 

Our Houston team, led by Division President Lindy Oliva, ensured Cassie and her children walked into a home that radiated holiday joy, complete with a sparkling Christmas tree, wrapped gifts, and bedrooms personalized with their favorite themes: Harry Potter, Disney princesses, and Spider-Man. 

The celebration was nothing short of magical, featuring a festive parade led by Waller High School band, the presentation of colors, and an emotional home reveal that brought tears, laughter, and the true spirit of the season. For Cassie and her children, this home is more than walls and a roof, it is a promise of stability, safety, and brighter days ahead. 

Moreta, who believed he was attending an interview to be considered for the home, was joined by his partner Destiny and their two children, for what they thought would be a getting-to-know-you session. After a Q&A in a model home, PulteGroup's Northeast Corridor Division President John Evans delivered the life-changing news during a walk to the home site.

“It’s a blessing to see that people do really care out there,” said Sandro Moreta after learning that he and his family would be the latest recipients of a new mortgage-free Built to Honor home. “To see there's light at the end of the tunnel, we're forever blessed and grateful for the opportunity.”

The home is being provided through PulteGroup's Built to Honor initiative in partnership with Operation Homefront's Permanent Homes for Veterans program.

“Being part of the Built to Honor program is an incredible blessing. This initiative is so important to our company because it allows us to honor heroes like Sandro in a meaningful way,” said PulteGroup’s Northeast Corridor Division President John Evans. “Sandro’s story is truly remarkable, and we are honored to recognize and serve him, to let him and his beautiful family know that people across the country appreciate what they do and have done.”

Moreta served with Delta Co., 2nd Tank Battalion, and deployed to Afghanistan in 2013 as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. In September 2013, he was critically injured when an IED struck the tank he was driving. He received the Purple Heart Medal for his heroic actions and medically retired in 2016.

The three-bedroom townhome in Glen Mills will provide the space and stability they've been dreaming of for their growing family.

Construction on the Moreta family's new home is underway, with a dedication ceremony planned for early 2026. Additional community events will be scheduled leading up to the dedication.

Staff Sergeant Phetsisouk enlisted in 2003, inspired by the events of 9/11, and served honorably for over nine years. He completed two combat deployments to Iraq as an infantry squad leader, facing extreme dangers daily including enemy fire, RPGs, snipers, and IEDs. He carried a photo of his infant daughter with him on every patrol. A reminder of what he was fighting for and what kept him alive.

The patriotic ceremony featured heartfelt remarks from PulteGroup leaders and community representatives, all honoring Staff Sergeant Phetsisouk's incredible sacrifice and resilience. The most emotional moment came during the key presentation when Tomee, surrounded by his daughters and mother Kay, expressed his gratitude: "This is honestly the greatest thing that's happened to me since the birth of my two kids."

Throughout the ceremony, Staff Sergeant Phetsisouk made it clear that this honor extends beyond himself; to the brothers he lost in combat, whose names are forever etched on his arm. "This is for you guys. I'm living for you guys," he shared, a powerful reminder of the bonds forged in service.

This home represents more than walls and a roof. It's a foundation for healing, stability, and hope for a family that has sacrificed so much for our freedom. The day began with an unforgettable Welcome Home Parade, as the local Del Webb Lakewood Ranch Association of Veterans and Military Supporters led the Beesting family to their new homesite on motorcycles. Employees, trade partners, and community members lined the streets with American flags and pom poms, creating an emotional entrance for a family who had overcome so much. Adding to the day’s many heartwarming moments was a very special reunion. Ray Worley, a PulteGroup construction manager who assists in Lakespur, was surprised to discover at the groundbreaking event back in May that the recipient of this new Built to Honor home would be Technical Sergeant Beesting, a childhood friend he’d grown up with and remained close with their whole lives. Ray was there to celebrate with the Beesting family as they cut the ribbon on their new home and has since visited them a handful of times after moving in.

Technical Sergeant Beesting served nearly a decade in the U.S. Air Force following 9/11, facing challenging and life-threatening situations that resulted in service-related injuries both seen and unseen. After being honorably discharged in 2011, the family faced yet another devastating blow when Hurricane Ian destroyed their home in 2022.

Under a ceremony tent, speakers including Wes Copeland, VP of Procurement for PulteGroup's SWFL Division; Karen Veczko from Building Homes for Heroes; Rick Severance, President of Wellen Park; and Sarasota County Commissioner Teresa Mast shared heartfelt remarks honoring the Beesting family's resilience and sacrifice. Perhaps most touching was hearing from David, one of Technical Sergeant Beesting's best friends and a fellow Air Force veteran, who spoke to their shared journey of service. The ceremony concluded with a ribbon cutting and key presentation, followed by the family stepping into their beautiful new four-bedroom home. The Beestings were so thrilled with their new home that they went back that very evening, grabbed toothbrushes, and spent their first night there before even moving their belongings in. A testament to how much this home means to them.

100th Built to Honor Ribbon Cutting for US Army Sgt. Aisha Hardemon

Since 2013, PulteGroup, one of America’s largest homebuilders, has been awarding mortgage-free homes to veterans injured during their term of service. Through Built to Honor, PulteGroup and its partners seek to ease one of the most significant burdens wounded veterans may face as they return to civilian life: ensuring they have a place of their own to call home.

“Reentry to civilian life can be difficult, and we want to make it just a bit easier for our nation’s veterans,” said Ryan Marshall, President and CEO of PulteGroup. “To be able to hand over the keys to someone as deserving as Sergeant Hardemon is a true honor. We hope this Built to Honor home is just the beginning for what’s next for the Hardemon family, just as it has been for the 99 other veterans who’ve received homes through the program.

“Reaching this milestone represents the steadfast commitment of our employees to serve our nation’s veterans,” added Marshall, “along with the generous support of our trade partners and suppliers, who routinely donate their time and materials to our Built to Honor homes.”

The journey began this past March when Sgt. Hardemon was surprised with the news that she would be receiving a mortgage-free home. Last April, Sergeant Hardemon and her family took part in the groundbreaking of her dream home, and walked through the framed house during the Notes of Love event in June. Tears were shed as the family read the thoughtful messages left behind from Pulte employees, trade partners and community members welcoming the Hardemon family to the neighborhood and thanking Sergeant Hardemon for her service. On Friday, Sept. 5^th, after months of anticipation that rivals any holiday countdown, the Hardemon family stepped across the threshold of their forever home for the very first time.

“It has been an honor building the 100^th Built to Honor home for Sergeant Hardemon and her family,” said Chad Plunkett, President of PulteGroup's Georgia Division. “Getting to know the Hardemon family throughout the build has been so rewarding. We are thrilled to welcome them to their forever home.”

With this 100^th Built to Honor home, PulteGroup has donated more than $35 million in homes and building materials across 17 states to 100 wounded or disabled veterans and their families since the program’s inception. But it means so much more than that. PulteGroup is delivering the dream of homeownership. Every Built to Honor home also relieves the veteran and their family from mortgage payments so they can focus on what matters most – healing and readjusting to civilian life.

Sergeant Hardemon joined the Army in 2007, deploying to both Iraq and Afghanistan during her six-year service. During this time, she earned numerous commendations, including the Army Commendation Medal and Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Two Campaign Stars. She continues to be dedicated to serving the community as she leads chair fitness classes for seniors at nursing homes.

The 100th Built to Honor home was awarded in partnership with Building Homes for Heroes®, a national non-profit organization devoted to bringing support to injured veterans.

Each note was a tribute to Tomee’s service and a warm embrace for the new beginning ahead.

As the family moved from room to room, they paused to read the messages. Each one a reminder that their sacrifices have not gone unnoticed. Some shared personal thanks, others offered blessings for the years to come, and many simply said, “Welcome home.” The day was filled with emotion, smiles, tears, and an overwhelming sense of support.

This tradition is about more than building houses. It’s about filling them with love from the very start. Before the drywall goes up, these walls hold the sentiments of a grateful community, ensuring that even after the ink fades, the love remains.

What U.S. Air Force Technical Sergeant Daniel Beesting thought was a final interview turned into the surprise of a lifetime. At PulteGroup's Lakespur at Wellen Park community, TSgt. Beesting and his family were stunned to discover they weren’t being interviewed at all. Instead, they had been selected as the recipients of a brand-new, mortgage-free home. The emotional surprise culminated in a groundbreaking ceremony marking the symbolic start of construction on their new beginning.

TSgt. Beesting's story is one of resilience tested twice over. After serving his country for nine and a half years and being honorably discharged as a disabled combat-wounded veteran, he returned home only to face another battle when Hurricane Ian destroyed his family's home. Left with nowhere to live, the Beesting family found themselves living in an RV parked in their driveway, starting over both financially and emotionally.

"This is a total restart financially for them to be gifted a mortgage-free home," shared Josh Graeve, PulteGroup's Southwest Florida Division President. “If I were to describe the way that this event makes me feel, it would be purpose. Being able to come together and donate a mortgage-free home to a combat-wounded veteran gives me such purpose in our leadership as a community.”

The project is made possible through a partnership with Building Homes for Heroes and the generous contributions of trade partners who are donating their time, materials and labor to ensure this hero and his family have a safe place to call home.

This is what it means to build incredible places where people can live their dreams – and sometimes, their second chances.

For Staff Sgt. Cooper, who served 11 years and completed four deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan, this moment represents more than just receiving house keys. It represents a place to finally heal and find peace. After surviving an IED blast, his journey didn't end there. Following recovery and rehabilitation, he rejoined his brothers in arms. This unwavering courage and dedication to service earned him the Purple Heart and numerous other commendations.

"I had a lot of guys that didn't make it home," Sgt. Cooper shared through tears of gratitude. "The fact that I'm still alive and I get to put my kids in a place to be their forever home is very emotional for me."

But the surprises didn't end with the house keys. Staff Sgt. Cooper and his daughters discovered personal touches throughout their new home. Gaming equipment and Nike shoes for the girls, along with equipment to help them pursue their dreams of becoming viral influencers. For Antwian, a brand-new grill and pizza oven awaited in the backyard, ready for family pizza dinners and BBQs that will fill their forever home with laughter and memories.

Built in partnership with Building Homes for Heroes, this marks the fourth home our Northeast Florida Division has donated through the Built to Honor program. As our Northeast Florida Division President Justin Cook said, "We are privileged to welcome Staff Sgt. Cooper and his family into their new home, a symbol of our gratitude for his courage and dedication to serving our country."

The dream of homeownership is becoming reality for U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Tomee Phetsisouk and his two daughters as PulteGroup’s Built to Honor program and Building Homes for Heroes officially broke ground on their future mortgage-free home in the Chicago suburbs. A special ceremony held Wednesday at Naperville Polo Club by Pulte Homes marked the beginning of construction on the custom-designed residence tailored to accommodate the combat-wounded veteran’s needs.

What began as what Staff Sergeant Phetsisouk believed was an in-person interview as part of his application process, transformed into an emotional moment of surprise and gratitude when he discovered he was the recipient of a brand-new mortgage-free home. A life-changing gift that will forever redefine his family’s future. The groundbreaking ceremony brought together representatives from both PulteGroup and Building Homes for Heroes, alongside community supporters, local officials, and military veterans to honor the Phetsisouk family’s journey.

“This groundbreaking represents a pivotal moment in Staff Sergeant Phetsisouk’s journey toward healing," said Andy Pujol, founder and CEO of Building Homes for Heroes. “After facing dangerous combat conditions and suffering life-altering injuries in service to our nation, he deserves a home where he and his daughters can build a future together. This project exemplifies the power of organizations coming together to support those who've sacrificed so much for our freedoms.”

Following the groundbreaking event, PulteGroup’s Built to Honor program and Building Homes for Heroes will collaborate to build and deliver a home specifically designed to address the challenges facing Staff Sergeant Phetsisouk, who suffers from injuries sustained during his deployments to Iraq.

U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Tomee Phetsisouk

Staff Sergeant Phetsisouk enlisted in the Army in August 2003 and served for over nine years before being medically retired in November 2012. During his two deployments to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, he served as an infantry squad leader, routinely facing extreme dangers. On his second deployment, his vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device (IED), resulting in severe head trauma, back and neck injuries, and shrapnel wounds. Despite his injuries, he continued fighting until medics reached him.

The Department of Veterans Affairs has recognized his sacrifice with a 100% disability rating. For his service, Staff Sergeant Phetsisouk is the recipient of the Army Commendation Medal, Valorous Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with four Campaign Stars, Combat Infantry Badge, and numerous other honors.

The new single-family home, scheduled for completion in the Fall of 2025, will accommodate Staff Sergeant Phetsisouk’s specific needs while providing his family with the space and comfort they deserve. Once completed, it will be the fifth home provided to wounded veterans in Illinois through this partnership.

On April 10, that road took a life-changing turn for U.S. Army Sergeant Aisha Hardemon and her family. Through thunderous cheers and heartfelt tears, Sergeant Hardemon learned she will soon be the distinguished recipient of a brand-new, mortgage-free home built through PulteGroup’s Built to Honor program – the 100^th home in the program’s history.

Every key to a Built to Honor home unlocks more than a door. For each veteran, it unlocks a fresh start on a new future. For their families, it unlocks the opportunity to establish new roots and shed a major source of stress. And for the employees of PulteGroup, it unlocks deep pride in knowing they helped make a difference for 100 families (and counting) who gave our country so much.

“When we started Built to Honor, I’m not sure we fully grasped how much this program would mean to all involved,” said Ryan Marshall, PulteGroup President and CEO. “But once you witness the impact a new, mortgage-free home has on these deserving veterans and their families, it changes you. Every Built to Honor home serves as a reminder of those who stood boldly to protect our freedom. If anyone has earned a right to the American dream of home ownership, it is these 100 recipients – and those who will come next.

After joining the Army in 2007, Sergeant Hardemon served with distinction for more than five years, deploying to both Iraq and Afghanistan before her retirement in 2013. She has earned numerous commendations, including the Army Commendation Medal and Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Two Campaign Stars. Today, she continues her legacy of service by conducting chair fitness classes for seniors at nursing homes and involving her children in sharing the benefits of physical fitness. Once complete, Sergeant Hardemon and her family will move into their new home in Pulte Homes’ Hawthorne Ridge community in McDonough, Georgia.

Sergeant Hardemon’s home was awarded in partnership with Building Homes for Heroes®, a national non-profit organization devoted to bringing support to injured veterans. This Built to Honor home will be the first in the McDonough area.

This is the fourth home built and donated by PulteGroup’s Northeast Florida Division through the company’s Built to Honor® Program. The Built to Honor program provides the gift of a new home to wounded veterans and their families across the country, honoring the sacrifice and service of our nation’s veterans. The Centex home gifted from PulteGroup’s Built to Honor program was built in partnership with Building Homes for Heroes®, a national non-profit organization strongly committed to rebuilding lives and supporting the brave men and women who were injured while serving our country’s armed forces.

Community members lined the streets of Wells Landing and cheered as a procession led Sgt. Cooper and his family to their new home. Several speakers shared comments honoring Sgt. Cooper’s sacrifice and service to our country including PulteGroup’s Justin Cook and Building Homes for Heroes’ board member, John Madison. For Sgt. Cooper, the home in Wells Landing provides a fresh start and a stable foundation for him and his family.

Sgt. Cooper served 11 years before his medical retirement in 2016, completing four deployments between Iraq and Afghanistan. During a mission in Jalalabad, his vehicle was struck by an IED, launching him 65 meters and leaving him unconscious. After recovery and rehabilitation, Sgt. Cooper returned to serve alongside his fellow soldiers. This dedication of service earned him the Purple Heart, along with numerous other awards and commendations.

This life-changing gift was made possible through PulteGroup’s Built to Honor® program in partnership with Building Homes for Heroes. Built to Honor provides the gift of a new home to wounded veterans and their families across the country.

Community members lined the street as employees cheered the local fire department and the Johnie Daniel Elementary School during the procession. The North Texas Patriot Guard riders followed alongside the Lifestyle Team from Pecan Square. When Sgt. Irving arrived, the crowd erupted in emotional applause as he glimpsed his completed new home for the first time.

Several speakers shared moving tributes, including Chuck McCoy with the Patriot Guard, Building Homes for Heroes’ President & General Counsel Kim Vesey, Hillwood Communities President Fred Balda, and of course PulteGroup Dallas Division President, Bryan Swindell. All shared touching tributes to Sgt. Irving as well as stories of personal and family experiences emphasizing the debt owed to our veterans.

One of the most touching moments came during Sgt. Irving’s speech, where he thanked his wife Nikki for her sacrifices during his deployments and recovery. Recalling their early days, he shared a poignant story about once refusing to let her exit their car in an unsafe neighborhood. Turning to their new home, he declared, “Nikki, you can go in that house!”

For Sgt. Irving, this home in Pecan Square is more than just a place to live. It's a symbol of gratitude for his service, a fresh start and a stable foundation for he and his family’s future.

Leading into Veterans Day, PulteGroup (NYSE: PHM) is announcing three home dedication ceremonies through its Built to Honor® program. These ceremonies bring the company closer to its milestone of awarding 100 mortgage-free homes to wounded veterans and their families over the past decade-plus.

The three dedication ceremonies, taking place Nov. 11-14, will honor veterans whose combined service spans more than four decades and includes multiple combat deployments, numerous valor awards and significant sacrifices for our nation.

“At PulteGroup, we believe the best way to show our gratitude to those who served our country is by doing what we do best, which is building homes that change lives,” said Ryan Marshall, PulteGroup President and CEO. “As we approach our 100^th Built to Honor home, each dedication represents not just a house, but a new beginning for heroes who have sacrificed so much. These mortgage-free homes provide the foundation for these veterans and their families to build their futures.”

The upcoming dedication ceremonies will honor:

·       Army Specialist Christopher Irving, a Purple Heart recipient and decorated veteran, will be honored at a dedication ceremony by PulteGroup's Dallas Division at the Pecan Square community in Northlake, Texas on Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11.

·       Army veteran Jacob Schanck completed five overseas deployments throughout his nearly 20-year military career. PulteGroup's Charlotte Division will welcome him and his family home to the Element Park community in Charlotte, NC on Nov. 13.

·       Sergeant Major William "Shane" Stockard, whose distinguished 25-year Army career includes four Bronze Star Medals and service across multiple deployments, will join PulteGroup's Coastal Carolinas Division for a home dedication ceremony at the Grand Arbor community in Blythewood, SC, on Nov. 14.

"Dedicating a Built to Honor home is one of the most rewarding moments we experience here at PulteGroup," said Charlie Tipton, PulteGroup's Central Area President. “When a deserving veteran receives their keys, they gain the opportunity to focus on their recovery, families, and futures without worrying about a monthly payment. We are so thankful to these veterans for their sacrifices and service to our country, and also grateful to our employees and trade partners for making the dream of homeownership possible.”

Launched in 2013, the Built to Honor program has delivered 92 homes nationwide, representing over $35 million in value. The program is on track to deliver its 100^th home in 2025, marking a significant milestone in PulteGroup’s commitment to veteran support.

We honored fallen U.S. Navy Petty Officer Russell Blake by presenting his family with a mortgage-free home, complete with rose petals raining from above and skydivers delivering keys to young Jayden Blake. Through interviews with family members and those involved in creating this special home, witness an unforgettable story of remembrance, gratitude, and community.

The dedication ceremony featured a stirring tribute, with San Antonio Patriot Guard riders leading Sgt. Watson in a vintage Army Jeep while neighbors and trade partners lined the streets waving American flags. The John M. Harlan High School JROTC color guard presented the colors, followed by the National Anthem and a moving ceremony.

"Today's dedication is a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by our nation's heroes and their families," said Shawn Seaberg, San Antonio Division President, PulteGroup. "This home represents not just our gratitude, but our commitment to supporting veterans and their families."

 A grateful Sgt. Watson shared, "I'm still at a loss for words, but I'm just grateful to everyone who put their hands in it. I'm just filled with so much joy."

The event kicked off with a parade, featuring vehicles from Old Skool which represented participating trade partners, local first responders, PulteGroup representatives, and the Ward family. Members of the PulteGroup Columbus team, community leaders, neighbors, and trade partners lined the route, cheering on the procession.

The ceremony started with a stirring rendition of the National Anthem sung by one of PulteGroup's sales consultants, Gregg Herbst. A flag-raising ceremony conducted by the Franklin County Sheriff's Office and Ohio State Highway Patrol added a patriotic touch, reminding everyone of the sacrifices made by veterans like Ward. Afterward, attendees gathered beneath a large tent – many wearing locally branded Built to Honor apparel to commemorate the day – to enjoy the ceremony. Speakers included the mayor of neighboring Obetz, Regan Huneycutt, Chief Development Officer of Operation Homefront, Jim Marcero, PulteGroup Columbus Division President, and Ms. Ward, herself.

One touching moment during the day came when representatives from the local school presented a card to Ward and her family from her granddaughter’s third-grade class, demonstrating the community's warm welcome. The highlight of the ceremony was Jim Marcero presenting Ward with her fully furnished mortgage-free home.

"I'm overwhelmed and beyond ecstatic," Ward expressed emotionally. "This is beyond my wildest dreams. I feel like we've been given a do-over... This is a new beginning for us and a new foundation for our life."

A ribbon-cutting ceremony followed, with Ward, her daughter Haley, grandkids Alanna and Thalia, Ward’s family and friends, PulteGroup Columbus division leaders, and veterans welcomed to participate. The reveal was broadcast live, allowing everyone to witness their joy while virtually going along for the tour as they experienced their new home for the first time. As Ward explored the house, her excitement was palpable, especially in the kitchen where she exclaimed, they'd be "cooking up a storm."

For the Ward family, this house in Buckstone Bend is more than just a place to live. It's a symbol of gratitude for her service, a fresh start, and a stable foundation for their future. "I'm just so grateful," Ward added, summing up the feeling of the day.

As the nation paused to remember the events of 9/11, the air was filled with a mix of solemnity and gratitude. A helicopter showered the rose petals, symbolizing the aviation community’s respect for a fallen hero. Meanwhile, a parachute team made a dramatic entrance, skydiving to deliver the house keys directly to young Jayden.

The American Bombshells, a patriotic singing group, provided a stirring musical backdrop to the day's events. A custom-wrapped Tesla truck, designed to replicate a WWII-era plane, added a unique touch. This special vehicle honored the grandfather of a volunteer from a partnering non-profit, highlighting the event's commitment to recognizing military service across generations.

Inside the home, Jayden discovered various heartwarming surprises from the Raleigh division. Knowing his growing passion for fishing—a hobby he's been pursuing with his grandfather—they decorated Jayden's room with an array of fishing gear, lures, and equipment. In a touching tribute to Jayden's father, the team also created a secret door under the stairs that opened to a comfortable nook. This special space featured Navy airplanes on the ceiling and walls, along with cherished Navy items, providing a personal space for Jayden to remember and honor his father's service. These personal touches exemplify PulteGroup's commitment to not just building houses but creating homes filled with meaning and memories.

Mikkel Thompson, VP of Construction Operations for PulteGroup's Raleigh division and an Army veteran, said, "There is no greater honor for us than helping military families by doing what we do best: building a place for them to call home.”

Sergeant Hale enlisted after 9/11 and served for nine years before being medically discharged and was visibly moved during the ceremony. "It's truly life-changing," Hale remarked, his voice thick with emotion. "This is still one of those 'don't pinch me moments' because I don't know if this is a dream or not." 

This dedication ceremony exemplifies PulteGroup's ongoing commitment to providing homes for veterans who have served our country, creating spaces where they can thrive with their families.  Paul Spenthoff, Division President at PulteGroup, explained the company's motivation: "It's PulteGroup's way of saying thank you to all the veterans and their families for the sacrifices they made serving our beloved country." 

Stephanie Hale, overwhelmed by the generosity, shared, "It's exciting. I'm just in shock." Meanwhile, Sergeant Hale's son was already testing his new basketball hoop, a touching symbol of the new life ahead for the family.

U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant Kaia Santana and U.S. Army Sergeant James Burse and their families were the grateful recipients of these custom-built homes.

Master Sergeant Santana, who served 19 years with deployments in Greece, Guam, Japan, and Iraq, was moved by the thoughtful details. Her children's bedrooms were personalized with a drafting table, a karaoke stage, and a Marvel-themed room, a testament to the care and thoughtfulness put into the construction. "It's so gratifying to know that we are appreciated for our sacrifices," she said, visibly emotional.

Sergeant Burse, a nine-year veteran with tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, found his new home adorned with Georgia Bulldogs memorabilia and a signed jersey from the football team he coaches. "This is a huge blessing for me and my wife. Now we can focus on starting a family," he beamed.

This event exemplifies PulteGroup's ongoing commitment through its Built to Honor® program to provide homes for veterans who have served our country, creating spaces where they can thrive with their families.

Following in his family’s footsteps, Special Operations Sergeant First Class Schanck enlisted in the US Army after high school. He served for nearly two decades, which included five overseas deployments. During his time in the service, he endured many physical and psychological injuries that continue to impact his daily life. Because of his bravery, Special Operations Sergeant First Class Schanck is the recipient of three Bronze Star medals.

PulteGroup is partnering with Building Homes for Heroes, a national non-profit organization devoted to bringing renewed hope and service to injured veterans, to build the Schanck family’s home. The Built to Honor program has provided the gift of a newly-constructed, mortgage-free home to veterans injured during their term of service throughout the country since 2013.

After words of gratitude and support from Scott Mairn, president of PulteGroup’s Indianapolis/Louisville division, Brig. Gen. (ret.) Robert D. Thomas, president and chief operating officer of Operation Homefront, and Dan Patterson, Whitestown Town Council President, the Orr family along with the crowd shouted, “move that sign,” which featured a life-size image of the original lot the Orrs broke ground on months before. The family was teary-eyed and speechless as they entered their new home for the first time.

The Orr family’s new home features three bedrooms plus a loft and flex space. As a surprise to the family, the home was also gifted fully furnished by PulteGroup’s professional design team with personal touches throughout, including bedrooms specially decorated for each child, a custom back patio with a grill for family cookouts, garage upgrades to give Petty Officer Second Class Orr a space to work on his car, and more. In addition, the family’s new home is located next to the community playground and has access to the B&O Trail, one of the premier trails in the Indianapolis metro area. The Orr’s family home was built in partnership with Operation Homefront, a national nonprofit providing relief and recurring family support programs and services to military families.

After being medically discharged from the U.S. Navy in March 2023 because of a service-connected autoimmune illness, the Orr family found respite at Operation Homefront’s Transitional Housing Village in San Diego. They lived temporarily in a rent-free, fully furnished apartment near medical care while transitioning back to civilian life. They then found hope through Operation Homefront’s Permanent Homes for Veterans program when they discovered a homeownership application in Whitestown provided through the generosity of PulteGroup’s Built to Honor initiative.

Located in Vail Parke at Rocking K, a Pulte Homes community in Tucson, the Liby family’s new home features four bedrooms and was specifically built with accommodations in the event that Staff Sergeant Liby’s combat injuries require him to use a wheelchair in the future. The home was also fully furnished with personal touches throughout, including canvas prints of the family, customized merchandise in the children’s bedrooms, a stocked pantry with snacks and more.

Staff Sergeant Liby’s journey to homeownership started with a surprise announcement before an Arizona Diamondbacks game in June 2023. Invited to attend what they thought would be a routine veteran appreciation event at the ballpark, the Liby family’s jaws dropped as it was revealed they would receive a mortgage-free home. Then in October 2023, the family broke ground on their new home at a special event with PulteGroup employees, local supporters and an honor guard from the local Vail High School Junior Naval Reserve Officers’ Training Corps. In November 2023, Staff Sergeant Liby was once again surprised as he read thoughtful messages on the framing throughout his new home. As part of Built to Honor’s Notes of Love event, PulteGroup employees and community members showed their gratitude and support for him and his family inside the walls of their new home before drywall was installed.

The Liby family’s home was built in partnership with Building Homes for Heroes, a national non-profit organization devoted to bringing renewed hope and service to injured veterans.

Staff Sergeant Liby served in the U.S. Marine Corps following high school and before joining the Army. While on patrol in Afghanistan with the Army, Staff Sergeant Liby and his unit were clearing an area of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) when one exploded under their Humvee causing him severe injuries. Since medically retiring from the military, Staff Sergeant Liby has been working to help others, including a local rancher. His dream is to open a ranch for veterans, first responders and their families, and families of the fallen.

In March, Sergeant Hale was surprised with the news that he was selected to receive a newly built, mortgage-free Pulte Home through Built to Honor, which provides the gift of a new home to wounded veterans and their families across the country. PulteGroup will construct a home that meets the Hale family’s specific needs and desires. The new 2,337 square foot single-family home will be located at Pulte Homes’ Emerald Woods community in Columbia Township. The community offers over 140 acres of common areas, including open green space, neighborhood sidewalks, water features and wooded views. Sergeant Hale and his family’s new home is scheduled to be completed in late summer 2024.

PulteGroup is proud to partner with Operation Homefront, a national non-profit organization devoted to bringing renewed hope and service to injured veterans, to help build the Hale family’s home. This will be the first home awarded in the Cleveland area through the Built to Honor program, which was launched in 2013 to recognize and thank returning military personnel who have been injured during their term of service.

Master Sergeant Reilly joined the military in 1994 and served honorably for 24 years, receiving over 25 medals during his service. He medically retired after enduring an injury as a jumpmaster that resulted in permanent paralysis of his right leg. In addition, Master Sergeant Reilly was diagnosed with PTSD and TBI (traumatic brain injury). He continues his recovery and has become a paralympic cycling athlete with hopes to qualify for the Olympics.

After cutting the ribbon on their new front porch and receiving the keys, Master Sergeant Reilly and his family saw their new home for the first time. The 2,685-square-foot-plus single-family home has four bedrooms and two bathrooms with special features built specifically for them. PulteGroup added special upgrades including a pool and custom rehab room in the garage with a built-in ice tub and refrigerator for Master Sergeant Reilly to use following intense paralympic training sessions. PulteGroup awarded the home in partnership with Building Homes for Heroes®, a national non-profit organization devoted to bringing renewed hope and service to injured veterans.

Imagine the excitement the family experienced when officials from PulteGroup’s Indianapolis Division immediately escorted them from a surprise reveal to a groundbreaking ceremony at the Bridle Oaks by Pulte Homes community in Whitestown, Indiana. The surprise and ceremony were held on November 8, just days before Veterans Day – an opportune time to reinforce Built to Honor’s commitment to recognizing and thanking returning military personnel for their courageous service.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, Built to Honor provides new, mortgage-free homes to wounded, ill or injured veterans. Once complete, this will be the second Built to Honor home awarded in Indiana by PulteGroup.

“Giving Petty Officer Second Class Orr and his family the surprise of a lifetime is one of the most unforgettable and rewarding moments our team has experienced,” said Scott Mairn, president of PulteGroup’s Indianapolis Division. “We know that having a home to call your own can be one of the most profound challenges facing wounded veterans when they come home. Given our ability to build incredible homes where people can live their dreams, we have a responsibility to give back to those who have given so much to our nation.”

To set up the surprise, PulteGroup’s Indianapolis division invited Petty Ofc. 2^nd Class Orr and his family to the Bridle Oaks community under the guise of having them participate in an interview during the selection process. After the pseudo interview, Mairn and his team walked Orr out of the model home to reveal a crowd of cheering PulteGroup employees making the life-changing announcement that they were chosen. Then the Orr family was led to the site of their future home, where they participated in a groundbreaking ceremony with Operation Homefront, community members, Boone County Sherriff’s officers and representatives from the town of Whitestown in attendance.

“We are honored to extend our heartfelt welcome to Petty Officer Orr, a true American hero, and his family, as part of PulteGroup's Built to Honor program,” said Whitestown Town Council President Eric Nichols. “His bravery and sacrifice are not just acknowledged in our community, but deeply cherished. We wish the Orr family a new chapter filled with the love, support, and kindness they deserve.”

This is the seventh home PulteGroup will award to a military family as part of its partnership with Operation Homefront, a national non-profit organization whose mission is to build strong, stable, and secure military families so that they can thrive – not simply struggle to get by – in the communities they have worked so hard to protect.

About Petty Ofc. 2^nd Class Robert Orr

After eight years in the Navy as a military police officer, Robert Orr had earned the rank of Petty Officer Second Class. He had anticipated a long career in the Navy when he was diagnosed with a service-connected autoimmune disease that makes his body unable to regulate its temperature. Orr was medically discharged in March 2023.

Orr, wife Adiame, and their two young children look forward to moving to Whitestown with its proximity to Robert’s family and access to one of the nation’s top immune disease physicians.

PulteGroup Arizona Division employees, local supporters and an honor guard from the Vail High School Junior Naval Reserve Officers’ Training Corps were there to celebrate with Liby, his wife Christina and their three children as they broke ground on their new home in Vail Parke at Rocking K, a Pulte Homes community in Tucson. The four-bedroom home is being built specifically for the Liby family, with accommodations if Staff Sergeant Liby’s combat injuries require him to use a wheelchair in the future.

“We hope this will soon become a place where Staff Sergeant Liby and his family can live out their dreams,” said Michelle Gregorec, president of PulteGroup’s Arizona Division. “While we can never fully express our gratitude to our nation’s heroes, especially to those who return injured from service, one thing we can do is build incredible homes to provide lifelong support for them and their families.”

The groundbreaking ceremony marks the start of the Liby family’s journey to homeownership. In June, they were invited to what they thought was an event for veterans at an Arizona Diamondbacks game – only to find out that 200 PulteGroup Arizona division employees and other guests were there to let them know they were selected to receive a mortgage-free home.

“It is an honor to be part of building the American dream for such a deserving veteran,” said PulteGroup President and CEO Ryan Marshall. “With the generous support of our trade partners and suppliers, the home will be ready for Staff Sergeant Liby and his family to move in early next year.”

U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Christopher Liby

Staff Sergeant Liby joined the military coming out of high school in December 1997, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps until December 2001 and joining the Army in 2002.

While on patrol in Afghanistan in 2008, Staff Sergeant Liby and his unit were clearing an area of IEDs when one exploded under their Humvee. An armored door blew off the vehicle and hit Staff Sergeant Liby in the head, crushing in his helmet and knocking him unconscious. The blast threw him nearly 150 meters, injuring his neck and back. After he regained consciousness a few moments later, he saw the Humvee upside-down and burning, and ran to help the soldiers inside despite his own wounds and continued flying shrapnel from secondary explosions. He and a fellow soldier continued to administer aid until a medical helicopter arrived. Staff Sergeant Liby sustained smoke burns in his lungs, his neck and back were injured, and he had shrapnel wounds in his neck, face and arms.

Three months later, he began experiencing severe spasms in his left arm. Further testing determined that he had sustained permanent nerve damage to his left arm, a traumatic brain injury, carpal tunnel, and fractures to his neck and lower back, which turned into degenerative disc disease. He was placed at a desk job for the remainder of the deployment and was medically discharged in October 2012.

Since medically retiring, Staff Sergeant Liby has been working to help others, including a local rancher. His dream is to open a ranch for veterans, first responders and their families, and families of the fallen.

Staff Sergeant Liby has been awarded the Purple Heart, Iraq Campaign Medal W/ Four Campaign Stars, USN/USMC Medal, Army Commendation Medal (5th Award), Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Good Conduct Medal (3rd Award), National Defense A Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal W/ Two Campaign Stars, and several other military accolades for his service.

Launched in 2013, PulteGroup’s Built to Honor® program provides mortgage-free homes to deserving veterans and their families. Over the last decade, the program has awarded 80 homes across the country. Partnering with Building Homes for Heroes in 2019, the two organizations have gifted 14 new homes to military veterans and their families to date.

The keynote speaker at Building Homes for Heroes’ 11^th Annual Honoree Gala was retired Army Staff Sgt. Ellis “Jerry” Majetich, a Bronze Star and Purple Heart veteran, and 2021 Built to Honor recipient. Majetich and his wife received a new mortgage-free home from PulteGroup and Building Homes for Heroes in Del Webb Nocatee in Ponte Vedra, Florida. Their home was the first donated by the homebuilder in a Del Webb community, which is designed for active adults ages 55 and older.

Marking one of the high points in a year-long celebration of Built to Honor’s 10^th anniversary, PulteGroup’s Coastal Carolinas division will kick off Veterans Day weekend with a special ceremony to celebrate U.S. Army Sergeant Keysia Calmese on Friday, Nov. 10. Sergeant Calmese and her family will receive the keys to their new mortgage-free home in Pulte Homes’ Heartwood community in Savannah, Georgia. This year, the Company will award 10 new mortgage-free homes to deserving veterans in Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Houston, Indiana, and Arizona.

PulteGroup launched Built to Honor in 2013 to rally its resources and expertise to help address what often can be one of the most urgent needs for veterans who have been injured during their term of service: ensuring they and their families have a place of their own to call home. Serving veterans across the country, the company has already dedicated 80 homes across the markets it serves.

“The success of our Built to Honor program would not be possible without the unwavering commitment of our PulteGroup employees, and the generous donations of materials, time and financial support from our trade partners and suppliers,” said Marshall.

In September, the Company received a three-year $300,000 commitment from the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation, the philanthropic organization directed by the family of PulteGroup founder William J. Pulte, to support Built to Honor. The Pulte Family Charitable Foundation has supported the program since 2021.

Additionally, the continued donation of labor, materials and monetary contributions from national vendors and suppliers supports the construction of each Built to Honor home. For the 200+ veterans in its own workforce, PulteGroup has increased its capabilities to provide career development opportunities and foster connections. This year, PulteGroup launched MVP, Supporting Our Military Veterans at Pulte, a business resource group that includes Company employees who previously served in the military, family members of veterans, and fellow employees who want to show their support.  This group prioritizes a sense of camaraderie amongst military veterans, addresses veteran issues, and provides mentoring and support.

During a dedication ceremony at Pulte Homes’ Thornton Farms West community in Dexter, Michigan on October 5, Master Sergeant Obey became the latest veteran to receive a new, mortgage-free home from the homebuilder. Celebrating its 10^th anniversary, PulteGroup’s Built to Honor program recognizes and thanks returning military personnel who have been injured during their term of service. This is the third Built to Honor home dedicated in Michigan.

More than 200 people attended the dedication event, which commenced with a parade procession led by the Dexter High School marching band; Michigan War Dog Memorial K9 Salute Team; multiple first responders from local area fire authorities and the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s office; veteran advocates from the Rolling Thunder and Patriot Guard Rider motorcycle groups; and veterans of the American Legion and local VFW. The ceremony began with a rendition of the national anthem by Ava Swiss, a Michigan native who competed on the NBC television show “America’s Got Talent.”

Master Sergeant Obey and his wife Janel were welcomed during the ceremony with speeches by representatives from the Michigan division of PulteGroup, Lima Township, Warriors and Caregivers United, RealTruck, Washtenaw County Sheriff’s office, and Building Homes for Heroes. The Michigan War Dog Memorial K9 Salute Team performed a 21-second howl salute dedicated to Master Sergeant Obey and all veterans in attendance.

“The Obeys now call their 2,883 sq ft, four-bedroom, four-bath ranch nestled on a private wooded lot home. It is complete with a finished basement, a “lady cave” loft space, outdoor patio and even a fully stocked, organized pantry,” said Christofferson.

In March, Master Sergeant Obey was surprised with the life-changing news that he was selected to receive a home through Built to Honor. The new single-family home was built in partnership with Building Homes for Heroes®, a national non-profit organization devoted to bringing renewed hope and service to injured veterans.

U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant Paulus Obey
Master Sergeant Obey joined the military in 1986 and served for over 18 years. During his time of service, he was deployed to Qatar and Uzbekistan where he flew as an Aircrew Loadmaster, responsible for getting troops and supplies to areas of combat, and taking part in missions into Iraq, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Yemen and Africa.
 
Master Sergeant Obey and his crew often received enemy fire during takeoffs and landings into dangerous combat zones. After flying over 20 combat missions and experiencing multiple episodes of being fired upon, Master Sergeant Obey was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder and was honorably discharged in 2004.  
 
For his service, Master Sergeant Obey was awarded The Air Medal, which is given for single acts of heroism or meritorious achievements while participating in aerial flight and foreign military personnel in actual combat in support of operations. He has also received several other medals, awards and ribbons for his valor and service.

During a special dedication ceremony, Staff Sergeant Olds and his family were welcomed to their new home by PulteGroup employees, local dignitaries, military organizations, and community members. After the Caney Creek High School Honor Guard presented colors, a presentation was led by Lindy Oliva, Division President for PulteGroup’s Houston operations, and Casey Kinser, Executive Vice President for Military Warriors, and the home was unveiled with a celebratory ribbon cutting. Built specifically for the Olds family, the single-story, 2,028 sq. ft. home was complete with furnishings designed to their taste by Pulte Interiors, including personalized bedrooms for their four children.

The Olds family home was awarded in partnership with Military Warriors Support Foundation, a national non-profit organization whose mission is to provide support and programs that facilitate a smooth and successful transition for our nation’s combat-wounded heroes and Gold Star families. In addition to being the Company’s 80^th Built to Honor home, it is the ninth home dedicated by its Houston division.

U.S. Air Force Staff Sergeant Jonathan Olds

Staff Sergeant Olds joined the U.S. Air Force in 2006 during his senior year of high school. As a Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) and Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC), he was responsible for calling in air strikes and close air support for Army infantry platoons. After nearly nine years of service and completing three deployments, he was medically retired in January 2015.

For his service and valor, Staff Sergeant Olds is the recipient of the Bronze Star, Purple Heart with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Force Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Combat Action Medal, Army Combat Action Badge, and numerous other medals and ribbons.

“We are honored to present Sergeant Karafiat and his family with the keys to their brand-new home, and hope it will be a source of comfort, security, and beautiful memories that they will create together,” said Chad Plunkett, president of PulteGroup’s Georgia division. “This home was made possible through the support of our entire PulteGroup team, Operation Homefront, Four Hands, Carter Lumber, Boise Cascade Company, Builders FirstSource, and all of our trade partners and suppliers who came together to make the dream of homeownership a reality for this deserving veteran.”

To ensure the Karafiat family, including their three children, would be settled in their new home in time for the start of the school year, PulteGroup and its trade partners accelerated the original build timeline. As an extra surprise, the 2,638+ square foot home was delivered fully furnished, thanks to the generosity of Four Hands. The global designer and wholesaler of trend-forward home furnishings donated ultra-cozy sofas and seating for family gatherings, outdoor living pieces, a variety of art from Four Hands Art Studio, and fun accessories to personalize the home for their family.

Over the past 10 years, the Company has delivered 78 new-construction homes nationwide.

U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Daniel Karafiat

U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Daniel Karafiat enlisted in the military at age 22 and volunteered to serve in the 160^th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne). After 10 years of service and three deployments, his military career ended in medical retirement in 2022. Sergeant Karafiat earned numerous awards and recognition for his distinguished service.

A Georgia native, Sergeant Karafiat and his wife, Rachel, are high school sweethearts. They have three children, one son and two daughters. After living in several states during Sergeant Karafiat’s time of service, the family moved back to Georgia to be closer to family after he was medically retired.
