PulteGroup's Built to Honor Program and Northeast Corridor Division Surprises Marine Corps Veteran with Mortgage-Free Home in Glen Mills
Purple Heart recipient Sandro Moreta and family to receive new home through partnership with Operation Homefront
In an emotional surprise on October 29th, Marine Corps veteran and Purple Heart recipient Cpl. Sandro Moreta and his family learned they would be awarded a mortgage-free home at Pulte Homes’ Spring Lake community in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania.
Moreta, who believed he was attending an interview to be considered for the home, was joined by his partner Destiny and their two children, for what they thought would be a getting-to-know-you session. After a Q&A in a model home, PulteGroup's Northeast Corridor Division President John Evans delivered the life-changing news during a walk to the home site.
“It’s a blessing to see that people do really care out there,” said Sandro Moreta after learning that he and his family would be the latest recipients of a new mortgage-free Built to Honor home. “To see there's light at the end of the tunnel, we're forever blessed and grateful for the opportunity.”
The home is being provided through PulteGroup's Built to Honor initiative in partnership with Operation Homefront's Permanent Homes for Veterans program.

This initiative is so important to our company because it allows us to honor heroes like Sandro in a meaningful way,” said PulteGroup’s Northeast Corridor Division President John Evans. “Sandro’s story is truly remarkable, and we are honored to recognize and serve him, to let him and his beautiful family know that people across the country appreciate what they do and have done.”
Moreta served with Delta Co., 2nd Tank Battalion, and deployed to Afghanistan in 2013 as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. In September 2013, he was critically injured when an IED struck the tank he was driving. He received the Purple Heart Medal for his heroic actions and medically retired in 2016.
The three-bedroom townhome in Glen Mills will provide the space and stability they've been dreaming of for their growing family.
Construction on the Moreta family's new home is underway, with a dedication ceremony planned for early 2026. Additional community events will be scheduled leading up to the dedication.
