Bloomfield Hills, Mich., March 2, 2012 (NYSE: PHM) – Can’t remember what paint color is on your walls? Want to receive home construction updates on your cell phone or access an electronic floor plan to start thinking about where furniture will go? PulteGroup has created an innovative personal web portal for its homeowners – providing a central point of access for important and timely information.
In November, PulteGroup sales consultants started sharing the new concept with new homebuyers and the homebuilder posted the portal on its Del Webb, Pulte Homes, Centex and DiVosta websites. Since then, the portal website has averaged more than 11,000 unique visits each month. This month, the company is offering the interactive portal to 80,000 existing homeowners and homebuyers, said Deborah Meyer, chief marketing officer for PulteGroup, one of the nation’s largest homebuilders.
“This concept is unique and we believe it will be very popular. It takes the process of building and owning a home to a whole new level,” Meyer said. “It’s a personal web portal with a central point of access that keeps people engaged at all stages of their homebuying and owning experience.”
The new portal, called Owner’s Entry, allows customers to access contract details, construction status, home specifications, floorplans and exclusive discounts from landscapers, retailers and national brands such as ADT, Atlas, AT&T and others.
The Owner’s Entry portal also enables homeowners to access warranty documentation, make online service requests, and share their homebuilding and owning experience via live feeds from Facebook and Twitter. Other features include a comprehensive home care guide with information on a myriad of categories from bath to electrical to landscaping maintenance.
Meyer said PulteGroup has received “very enthusiastic feedback from homebuyers and our field teams” on the portal. “So soon in the process, people already see the long-term value.”
