Pulte Homes Opens Two New Communities in Bay Area

Unique New Home Options in Sought-After San Jose and Fremont Locations

SAN FRANCISCO - October 24, 2011 – Pulte Homes opened two new home communities this week totaling more than 500 units in highly sought-after Bay Area locations. Pepper Lane, a 371 townhome community in San Jose, and Central Park Terraces, 145 single family homes in Fremont, opened for sales on Saturday, October 22.

Opportunities to purchase land in mature, job proximate markets in the South and East Bay prompted Pulte Homes to acquire the sites earlier this year, said Steve Kalmbach, president of PulteGroup’s Northern California Division.

“In this difficult housing environment, these openings are significant because they represent some of the best locations for people to live in the South Bay,” Kalmbach said. “These locations are ideal with easy access to the Bay Area and great proximity to job centers, services and recreation.”

Pepper Lane

Located in the Berryessa area of San Jose, Pepper Lane is a 17.5-acre site that features an assortment of recreational amenities and adjacent commercial opportunity.

“Pepper Lane represents one of the few remaining opportunities to provide a new home product of this scale in the heart of Silicon Valley,” Kalmbach said.

The community features four home plans and abundant recreational amenities including neighborhood parks, bocce ball court and community gardens. The townhome community will also feature open spaces with landscaped paseos throughout the neighborhoods. Homes include two to four bedrooms, great room plans and features such as tile floors in key areas, granite countertops and energy efficient features. The community is in the Berryessa Union and East Side Union High School districts.

Located at Berryessa Road and Jackson Avenue, Pepper Lane offers a desirable commuting location with Interstate 680 and a light rail station close by and easy access to Highway 101, 880 and downtown San Jose. Already near existing commercial and retail services, the property also includes plans for a commercial site that Pulte will either sell or partner to build with another developer, Kalmbach said.

Central Park Terraces

Located in the historical Irvington District, Central Park Terraces is in Northeast Fremont, about one mile west of Interstate 680. The community offers offer a unique opportunity to purchase a new single-family home in an established area.

Central Park Terraces is family friendly with parks, trails, play areas, picnic tables, basketball half-court and open spaces. The community is within half a mile from the 450-acre park, with trails that lead to Lake Elizabeth, sports fields, and more.

“This is a highly desirable location with great access to Silicon Valley and the Peninsula,” said Kalmbach, adding that a BART station is within 2.5 miles.

The space-savvy three and four bedroom plans feature family-oriented living areas with interior laundry rooms, front patios and private side yards. Other home features include island kitchens, open dining areas and walk-out balconies on some plans.
