Homebuilder Purchases 70 Lots from Port Blakely Communities in Sought-After Location
ISSAQUAH - (January 2011) >– Pulte Homes purchased land for the development of 70 townhomes in the sought-after Issaquah Highlands master plan. The homebuilder purchased the land from Port Blakely Communities in late December and plans to begin sales this fall.
“We have been looking for the right location and time to expand locally”, said John Ochsner, Division President for the Pacific Northwest, “and this is an excellent opportunity for us to do so.” Recognized nationally for its innovative and environmentally conscientious community design, Issaquah Highlands is one of the Seattle area’s most desirable master planned communities and an ideal location for Pulte.
“Issaquah Highlands is one of the most sought-after places to live in the area and our new neighborhood is ideally situated in this beautiful community,” said Frank Anderson, the company’s local Director of Land Acquisition. “The neighborhood is adjacent to parks, trails and shops, but also has easy access to job centers in Seattle, Bellevue and Redmond.”
The new Pulte Homes neighborhood, which will be called Sunset Walk, is located adjacent to Sunset Park and the planned High Street retail. The greater community’s 1,500 acres of parks, open space, trails and mixed use areas will soon be joined by the much-anticipated opening of the new Swedish hospital and medical center.
“We welcome Pulte Homes to Issaquah Highlands and thank them for recognizing this vibrant community is both a great community and a great investment,” said René Ancinas, president of Port Blakely Communities. “As one of the nation’s leading homebuilders, Pulte Homes joins a lineup of several best-in-class newcomers who are part of a next phase of commercial, retail and residential development that will both enhance Issaquah Highlands and generate a positive impact on the region’s economy.”
Sunset Walk by Pulte Homes will feature five two and three-story townhome plan options ranging in size from 1460 to 2054 square feet, Anderson said. Consistent with Issaquah Highlands award winning environmental design, the homes will be 4-Star Built Green and each home Energy Star certified.
Parks and trails out your back door, and the retail center and hospital out your front door – this is a very livable, walkable neighborhood, we love this site,” Anderson said.
Sunset Walk is Pulte’s first community in Issaquah and expected to open for sales this fall. For more information go to www.pulte.com or call 866-279-0787.
