Offers Millennials Suburban Features in Urban Location

HOUSTON – August 26, 2016 - Pulte Homes is opening a community in the heart of Houston, giving millennials an alternative to high density city living with new single family homes. Hollister Oaks by Pulte Homes meets the growing demand for urban infill new homes with unique suburban features like covered patios, balconies and livable backyards.
“It is rare to find new homes for young families and millennials located just minutes from downtown, yet offer community features not typical in high density city living,” says Tanya Rizzo, vice president of sales for PulteGroup’s Houston Division. She said Hollister Oaks represents the first of several communities Pulte Homes plans to open near downtown Houston, specially designed for millennials.
While various factors have led to a delay in millennials buying homes, Rizzo said Houston and other Texas markets rank high compared to others in the nation1 when it comes to their plans to buy a home in the future. And while the downtown Houston area is popular among millennial buyers, Rizzo said their choices have been somewhat limited.
“These new Pulte home designs focus on offering outdoor living in a gated community with mature

trees and a park that truly will provide an oasis for millennial homebuyers in the midst of this bustling urban submarket,” Rizzo said. In addition to offering affordable living in a highly desirable area with limited new construction, Rizzo said the home plans also offer first-floor living, downstairs owners suite, balconies, backyards and covered patios.
Pre-sales are underway for Hollister Oaks, which is located in the Spring Branch area just outside the 610 inner loop, between I-10 and 290. The infill site includes 55 two-story single family homes. Pulte is currently hosting “hard hat tours” by appointment prior to opening fully-furnished model homes for viewing later this year.
Rizzo said the location provides easy access to major transportation corridors within the city, and is close to suburban town centers just inside the beltway such as Memorial and City Centre.
