Homebuilder Joins Mortgage Bankers Association to Assist Families with Critically Ill or Injured Children Make Mortgage Payments

ATLANTA, Oct. 21, 2015 – PulteGroup has donated $50,000 to help families with a critically ill or injured child make their mortgage or rent payment. The donation is in support of the Mortgage Bankers Association Opens Doors Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting families in need.
“For far too many families, medical care creates an extraordinary financial burden at a time of extreme emotional stress, often putting their home in jeopardy,” said Debra Still, CMB, Chairman of the MBA Opens Doors Foundation and President & CEO of Pulte Mortgage LLC. Pulte Mortgage is a wholly-owned subsidiary of PulteGroup, Inc. that has provided lending services to more than 400,000 customers since its founding in 1972.

PulteGroup, one of America’s largest homebuilders, has been providing the American Dream of homeownership to families for more than 60 years. The homebuilder joined 32 other companies – from other national homebuilders and their in-house lending companies, to community banks and title companies in supporting the MBA Opens Doors Foundation cause.

“By responding so quickly and generously, these companies are allowing Opens Doors to begin its new fiscal year with an opportunity to help many more families in need,” Still said, adding that more than $700,000 in pledges were collected in conjunction with the MBA’s 2015 Annual Convention and Expo last week in San Diego. “Through the support of Pulte and others, our industry is making a profound impact on those who receive the grants, giving families with critically ill or injured children the gift of spending precious time together."

Still said the MBA Opens Doors Foundation was developed as an industry association model to help individuals and families facing housing challenges associated with the significant cost of medical care for a seriously ill or injured child.
