Baby Boomers Settling into Active Adult Lifestyle in Wake Forest
(Wake Forest, NC) January 31, 2018 — The largest and newest active adult community in Wake Forest is coming to life — and filling up fast — with nearly one-third of the homes already sold in the first phase of Del Webb at Traditions.
The trailblazing group of baby boomers began moving in last month, gathering at the new Welcome Center and cultivating friendships and planning activities while neighborhood amenities are being built.
In phase one, 50 of the 165 homes already have been spoken for, according to Sales Consultant Molly O'Brien, with many homebuyers anxious to meet their neighbors and entertain.
“Baby boomers are a social bunch,” she said. “They want to be active and engage with their friends and neighbors. And while some are still working, when the day is over, they want to gather with friends and keep going.”
New resident Gayle Hardison, who has not yet retired, made the move from Texas to be closer to her daughter and grandkids, but didn’t know anyone else in Wake Forest. “I’ve lived overseas, on the West Coast, Midwest and then in Houston for years,” Hardison said. “But this immediately felt like home. This is where I want to be.”

The 18,000 square foot Lifestyle center will become the social hub when finished at year’s end.
