Carly Christenson: Newly-minted graduate and our newest sales person in the Illinois Division
Carly recently graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelors of Science in Marketing and a Professional Sales Certificate. I am from a small town, Belvidere, Illinois. This is where my family still lives and where I graduated high school. I really just enjoy spending time with friends and family in my spare time. Carly shared some insights and some advice for college students.
What advice would you give a college graduate or even a senior as they enter embark on their final year?

My advice to a college graduate/senior would be to not give up. It is a huge accomplishment to graduate or be on the path to graduation, but this is the time when you should be working your hardest to excel and to get the most out of your classes. Also, keep networking. It is crazy how many opportunities are out there and what can come up last minute. This is what happened to me with Pulte. I wasn’t aware of the company until my senior year, and I couldn’t imagine what I’d be doing now if I’d just settled for something else.
You are preparing yourself for the future. I agree that there is still a lot of learning and growth that takes place after graduation, but what a great way to start off by being truly motivated to find the perfect place in the workforce. One of my favorite quotes and mottos is “If you love what you do, you won’t work a single day in your life.”
What are you most looking forward to working at PulteGroup?
I am very excited to be a part of the Pulte team, especially right out of college. I am so lucky and honored to be a part of such an amazing company that strives to make each of its customers’ dreams come true, every day. I think PulteGroup follows such inspirational and positive outlooks that I know I will adapt these philosophies into my day-to-day life and really grow as a person. Right now, I am really just very interested in learning about the business and getting to know the team. Everyone here is so nice and helpful that I know I will accomplish that goal in no time at all.
