Sgt. John Jaramillo joined the U.S. Army in 2001 and served two enlistments with the Army. He was stationed in Fort Jackson until 2003, assigned to Fort Bragg, North Carolina and deployed to Sinai, Egypt, as well as assigned to Fort Riley, Kansas. He was deployed to Afghanistan in 2011 where he was injured by an IED.
He retired in 2013 and received numerous commendations, including a Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, two Army Commendation Medals, and many others.
Jaramillo, his wife Dania, and two young children, Jazmin and John, Jr. currently live in Miami, Florida.
