Homebuilder Purchases 86 Lots in Growing Northwest Corridor
ALBUQUERQUE, NM – September 4, 2012 - Pulte Homes has purchased 86 developed lots in Stormcloud, building on its new home community presence in Albuquerque. Pulte opened on site for pre-sales this week and will grand open two new model homes in October.
“We are pleased to be back at Stormcloud, offering new floor plans and lower prices,” said Wade Messenger, the company’s vice president of sales. “Stormcloud is attractive to value-oriented families and empty nesters alike who prefer convenience to the highway for easy commuting and who love living near outstanding recreational facilities.”
The new Pulte Homes community in Stormcloud features six home designs ranging in size from 1,776 to 3,123 square feet starting from the high $180s. The one and two-level single family homes also feature three and four bedrooms, and two to three and a half baths. All of the plans have oversized garages, and all the plans larger than 2,300 square feet have three-car garages.
“This community is ideally situated on Albuquerque’s growing northwest corridor, offering ideal accessibility and proximity to freeways, employment, educational facilities and recreation,” said Jay Gillilan, president of PulteGroup’s New Mexico Division. “This is a great place to live, with ample opportunity for future employment and residential growth opportunities in the market.”
The new Pulte Homes site is bordered by the Petroglyph National Monument, a 220-acre future Albuquerque Public Schools Education and Sports Complex and the Interstate 40. Gillilan said the location is highly convenient because of both proximity to I-40, and the easy access it offers to Paseo del Norte Boulevard using the recently completed extension of Unser Boulevard.
“The commute to downtown Albuquerque is ten minutes and less than 12 miles from the Uptown Corridor and the Cottonwood Mall corridor,” Gillilan said. “And, the existing and future park areas in this community are unparalleled.”
In addition to its ideal accessibility, Gillilan said the new Pulte neighborhood will be within future walking distance to new schools and the planned 81-acre City of Albuquerque regional sports and recreation fields. In addition, a large dog park, kids park and kids splash park are near the new Pulte Homes neighborhood. The 220-acre sports complex, the West Side Sports Complex, is the largest in the school district’s history. Currently under construction and expected to open in early 2013, the complex will feature fields for football, track, baseball, tennis and stadium that accommodates more than 7,000 people.
This new neighborhood marks the second time Pulte sold homes in Stormcloud, having sold out of 129 units more than two years ago. Pulte Homes recently opened The Boulders and Mesa del Sol communities in Albuquerque, and also features new homes at Volterra.
