15,000-square foot amenity center will be recreational and social hub of 55+ community
The design team wanted to keep the design of the amenity center consistent with retail shops in the Woodlands area and make sure it had a rustic feel. The inspiration for the design came from the show “Fixer Upper” and hill country architecture.
HOUSTON, TEXAS, July 10, 2017 – Meeting the growing social lifestyle and fitness needs of its active residents, Del Webb The Woodlands announced today it is hosting the amenity center public grand opening on Saturday, July 22, 2017, which will include active demonstration of the amenities offered of the near 15,000-square-foot facility.

The grand opening celebration will be held on Saturday, July 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the amenity center, 634 Del Webb Blvd, The Woodlands, Texas, 77382. The event will feature live entertainment on the covered patio, food and beverages, active demonstrations including pickleball and bocce, cooking demonstration, water aerobics, yoga and painting party in the craft room. The light fixtures were once used as railroad ties and have been repurposed.
They were custom designed just for the amenity center.
The approximate 15,000-square-foot indoor recreation facility features an indoor pool and spa, fitness center and exercise studio for classes such as yoga, aerobics and Pilates; men’s and women’s locker rooms; and multi-purpose rooms. The outdoor area includes a resort-style lap pool and spa; bocce, pickleball and tennis courts; gathering areas; and more.
A full-time lifestyle director will be based at the amenity center to help plan activities, outings, organize new clubs and more. According to Oliva, programs and classes are already in development and are specifically tailored to the interests of the residents.
Since its official grand opening in April 2016, more than 200 homes have been sold with nearly 400 residents calling Del Webb home.
