Centex Expands into the Delaware Valley/Philadelphia Region with Planned Opening of Oak Mill Community

Oak Mill is the Newest Centex Community Designed to Meet the Unique Needs of First-time Homebuyers

TREVOSE, Pa. ? Oct. 18, 2010 ? Centex today announced the opening of its Oak Mill community in Florence, New Jersey, marking the introduction of the Centex brand to the Delaware Valley/Philadelphia market. Centex, which offers communities designed to meet the needs of first-time buyers, is a brand of PulteGroup, Inc., one of the nation’s largest homebuilding companies.  PulteGroup has been strategically expanding the Centex brand into new markets following a merger of the two companies in August 2009.

After merger, PulteGroup initiated an innovative strategy through which it aligns its distinct brands with defined homebuyer segments: Centex for first-time homebuyers; Pulte Homes for the move-up market; and Del Webb for active adults age 55 and better.

“PulteGroup is unique in its ability to leverage individual brands to reach different buyer groups, allowing us to offer communities and homes that better address consumer wants and needs,” said John Grierson, president of PulteGroup’s Delaware Valley division. “First-time buyers are a key buyer segment, so introduction of the nationally-recognized Centex brand provides us with a great opportunity to drive increased traffic and sales while expanding our local market share. With the opening of a Centex-branded community, the Delaware Valley/Philadelphia region now features all three brands, enabling us to serve homeowners in all phases of life.”

Centex branded communities are designed to address first-time buyer needs where affordability, value and ease of buying are vital.  Providing the opportunity to “Put Yourself in a Better Place,” the Delaware Valley division is in prime position to capitalize on the first-time homebuyer. This segment of the market is a crucial demographic that accounted for 43 percent of all home sales through the first seven months of 2010 according to the National Association of Realtors® Realtors®Confidence Index.

Once completed, Oak Mill will be a community of 85 single-family home sites featuring three floor plans ranging in size from 2,200 to 2,600 square feet. Oak Mill features tremendous value for new construction in Burlington County. Each plan offers a two-car garage, two-and-a-half baths, three to four bedrooms and a full basement.

Oak Mill is conveniently located near a variety of parks, the Delaware River waterfront and numerous malls and shopping centers. Its proximity to major thoroughfares including I-295, the New Jersey Turnpike and Route 130 offers residents quick and easy access to anywhere in the metro Delaware Valley area.

Oak Mill’s sales center is located at the intersection of Boulevard St and 5th. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. For more information, visit centex.com or call 888-785-8301.
